The current crisis in Egypt reflects a common Power Lab scenario.
The Elite, who own and control all of the society’s resources, have little investment in change;
The Immigrants (poor), who enjoy few of the society’s resources, have little investment in stability;
and the Middles, who, only so long as they maintain the institutions of the Elite, enjoy a higher standard of living, are torn; they have reason to fear both change and stability. And so, the Middles split; some support the Elite, others lead the revolution.
Is the Army torn?
